Rose Lake- Hocking Hills, OH
We just returned from another relaxing trip from Hocking Hills. We first visited for our mini-moon for a couple days. This time we stayed at the 'Humming Bird Haven' It was a nice cabin but we liked 'Nature's Paradise' better. We didnt see any hummingbirds. Saw one deer near the cabin, but saw plenty of them along the roads! We did drive around a lot this time. Roaming through the hills and little town's. The roads are all connected in some way and easy to get around. We ate at three local diners. The Ridge Inn, The Olde Dutch Restaurant and a little coffee cafe. I think it was called JP's Coffee Cafe.... It was all really good food :) In downtown Logan they had a great Antique store. I bought a couple of old orchid prints, a hat I believe from the 50's, some shanks from the 1910's and a pair of white gloves. They also had a craft store that had crafts that the local's made. Bought some smelling good stuff and gifts for the family.
We only visited 3 nature type places this time. Our first was Ash Cave which was amazing! It is believed that the ashes came from campfires the Indian's built. Then we visited Cedar Falls but with no falls. It hadn't rained enough to actually have running water. But we got to see Rose Lake from the experience. On one of our many road trips we came across Cantwell Cliffs. We didnt have a camera at the time, but it was really neat. It had 'Fat Woman's Squeeze' these stairs that snaked through.
It was so great at night. It would get so dark you couldnt see your hand in front of your face. And the sounds of nature singing to you was peaceful.
I didn't think about work the entire time. We did think about the house a lot though. We are just waiting on the loan to go through which can take 3 weeks. Our loan officer said we shouldn't have any worries to start packing!!!
